Stampin' Up in Burden

Once a month the Stampin’ Up! group meets in the Burden City Hall to share food, fellowship and the enjoyment of constructing cards by hand.

The group has been meeting in Burden for approximately 18 years. As one member mentioned Not only is Burden a central location, the City Hall is a nice facility with clean newer tables and chairs and rents for a reasonable rate.

The cards are much more than your everyday Hallmark Card; these are pieces of art. As Dotty Smith put it “I sent a pack of cards to a man in Mississippi. He sent back a thank you card. He has not used a single one of them. He has them set out across his coffee table”.

As Dotty explained “Some of the really intricate designs you might get 3 or 4 cards done a night, it just depends on the prep work you do beforehand”.

At the end of the night, this close group of friends share in a moment of prayer before heading home.
