Turner's Farm Kitchen Entering Second Year

Submitted by Stephanie Weigle

Turner's Farm Kitchen began as a discussion around our family dinner table with Stephanie, Eddie, and Tim (Stephanie's dad). Tim described a lifelong dream of owning a burger and beer joint. Stephanie spoke of the need for a local place for healthy food, and of course wine. And we all discussed a desire to help rebuild Burden's main street, and bring at least one building back to an active functioning business. What resulted was purchasing a neglected old building that had a tremendous amount of local heritage. It took 2 years bring the building back to life, but finally in October of 2018, we were able to proudly open Turner's Farm Kitchen. It contains all the elements from the original vision and more. We are the first business in Burden's history to have a full liquor license. Our menu consists of hamburgers, steaks, pork and produce from area family farms. The options we offer on our menu are a cleaner version of what you would get at a regular greasy spoon with an Ecuadorian twist and are all freshly prepared when ordered. We are celebrating our one year anniversary this month and look forward to many more years of serving healthy food, good drinks, and sharing great times with our friends and family.
